Makaha Sons hold Summer Concert

Alumni settled under the late afternoon sun on June 14 for the fourth annual summer concert presented by the ‘Iolani Alumni Association.  The free two-hour concert by the beloved Makaha Sons and their opening act, The Barry Kimokea Trio, was a treat for alumni from all graduating years.

The Makaha Sons performed their hits in 'Iolani's center courtyard.
Bruddah Wade from Hawaiian 105 KINE entertained as the emcee. Alumni and friends savored great music, comedy, and giveaways.  The Sons performed their classics White Sandy Beach, Take A Walk in the Country, and Ke Alaula

Past alumni summer concerts have featured other legendary local musicians, such as Hapa, Ho’okena, Cecilio &  Kapono, and Bruce Hamada ’75.  Stay tuned to find out who’ll be on stage next summer!
