Early Computers in the Classroom

In 1966, ‘Iolani was one of 28 schools across the country to receive grants from the National Science Foundation Engineering Concepts Curriculum Project. The grant made the new ‘Iolani course “The Man-Made World” possible. Among the topics, students learned how people extend their mental abilities through logic circuits and how they use computers to handle and process information. Students studied logic circuit boards and a model of a computer.
