Fall Sports Wrap Up

The Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) fall sports season has passed but the memories of exciting games and close encounters remain. The following results are for the varsity sports.

Seniors Accept College Scholarships

Three ‘Iolani seniors secured their college futures when they made written commitments to accept scholarships on November 12, the first day of the current NCAA signing period.  


Gathered for the letter signing were, left to right, Todd Fleming, Dr. Val Iwashita, John Fink, Megan Fink ‘04, David Fink ’09, Shari Fink, Michael Fink, Sally Moore and Eddie Maruyama.



Chelsea Hardin ’09 and her mother Christine Mitchell both signed the letter of intent.
David Fink ’09 signed a national letter of intent to play golf at Oregon State University. Chelsea Hardin ’09 signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Maile Scarpino ’09 also made a verbal commitment to continue her academic and volleyball career at Hofstra University in New York.

The student-athletes were surrounded by their family and close friends in the Office of the Headmaster. Officiating over the ceremony was Director of College Counseling Todd Fleming. Athletic co-Director Eddie Murayama was also present.
